Hardware issue
For any software or hardware issues please ensure you have restarted your computer before raising a ticket. Not always, however, sometimes this resolves the issue. This includes mouse, keyboard, screen, PC, laptop if they are not working, or not responding.
If you are using a Dell devices, ensure drivers are up to date. You can double check this via Dell Command Update software installed in your PC
1. Mouse Not Working
A. Basic Checks
✅ Ensure the mouse is properly connected (USB, Bluetooth, or wireless receiver).
✅ Try a different USB port.
✅ If using a wireless mouse:
- Check if the batteries need replacement.
- Ensure the mouse is turned on.
- Re-pair the device if Bluetooth is used.
B. Software Checks
🔹 Restart your computer.
🔹 If the mouse cursor moves erratically, clean the sensor on the bottom of the mouse.
🔹 Update the mouse drivers via Dell Command Update software installed in your PC
C. Hardware Checks
🔸 Try using the mouse on another computer to see if it works.
🔸 Test a different mouse on your computer.
2. Keyboard Not Working
A. Basic Checks
✅ Make sure the keyboard is properly connected (USB, Bluetooth, or wireless receiver).
✅ Try a different USB port.
✅ If using a wireless keyboard:
- Replace the batteries if needed.
- Ensure it is turned on and properly paired.
B. Software Checks
🔹 Restart your computer.
🔹 Check for stuck keys or debris under the keys.
🔹 Update the keyboard drivers via Dell Command Update software installed in your PC
C. Hardware Checks
🔸 Try connecting the keyboard to another computer.
🔸 Test a different keyboard on your computer.
3. Monitor Not Working
A. Basic Checks
✅ Ensure the monitor is turned on and properly plugged in.
✅ Check for any loose or damaged cables (HDMI, DisplayPort, VGA, or power cable).
✅ Try using a different cable if available.
✅ Press the input/source button on the monitor to switch to the correct input.
B. Software & Display Settings
🔹 Restart the computer.
🔹 Try connecting the monitor to another computer.
🔹 If the screen is black but the PC is on, try:
- Press
Win + P and select Duplicate or Extend.
- Restart PC
C. Hardware Checks
🔸 Test with another monitor to check if the issue is with the PC or the monitor.
